Alone by Robert J. Crane is the first book in the series, The GIrl in the Box series. It focuses in on Sienna Nealon, who has never left her home in years…until two men broke into her house, and she had to run from her life. All of a sudden, everyone wants a piece of her…and she doesn’t know who to trust, or who to ask for help.
This book took a little while to get into….I think that’s only because I was psyched to go get J.K. Rowling’s new book, and I couldn’t wait to start reading it. But other than me slowly getting into it, this book ended up being pretty awesome!
I love that Robert J. Crane put some great actin scenes into this book. Sometimes, it seems like an author tries too hard to keep their readers engaged with a ton of action….but for this novel, it definitely wasn’t the case! It didn’t seem for one moment that Robert was trying..which is a major plus! I hate when I feel like authors are trying too hard.
The characters themselves were really interesting…especially Sienna. How can you not be captivated by her? You have to be dying to know what she is through the majority of this book…if you aren’t itching to know her powers, then you’re not reading this book properly!
I think that people who are looking for something new to read (that aren’t vampires….ew!) will definitely fall in love with this series! Although I found this book a bit hard to get into, I’m going to continue on with the second book, because this series is something that really does have a great plot to it!
